In a December 1 interview on JTBC’s “Newsroom”, Rosé revealed details about BLACKPINK’s return to the music scene while also discussing her solo career plans. In particular, Rosé confirmed that BLACKPINK would reunite in 2025, stating, “Next year, we plan to release an album and go on tour.”

Following the female idol’s remarks, YG Entertainment released a video on December 2 featuring founder Yang Hyun-suk, confirming BLACKPINK’s 2025 world tour plans by saying, “it’s a significant year as BLACKPINK’s world tour kicks off.”

However, no specific schedule was provided.

These announcements reassured many fans, especially after concerns arose when Lisa announced her solo album release slated for February 2025. Fans had worried that solo activities might delay the group’s reunion.

Now that a confirmation has been made, many fans expressed excitement online, leaving comments such as, “I’m so happy to hear this. They’re really coming back next year!”, ”Thank you, Rosé, for confirming this”, and “Looks like another busy year for our girls. Let’s prepare our wallets!”

However, not everyone is thrilled with the tour plan. Some fans argue the group should focus on releasing a full length album and promoting it instead of immediately embarking on a tour.

According to these fans, BLACKPINK hasn’t released any new music as a group for a long time, meaning that there will hardly be any new group performances in the upcoming world tour. Additionally, some express hope that the girl group will not tour too many cities, as it will not only drain their energy, but also severely reduce their promotional period.

On top of that, others criticized YG Entertainment for the vague nature of the announcement, suspecting it to be a marketing ploy.

These people pointed out that YG has a track record of failing to follow through with their announced schedules, spotting constant delays and leading to mistrust.
